Featured Artist – Kristine Cobb

My featured artist is Kris (Panaccione) Cobb. She was my room-mate in college. She is a wonderful artist, and still a very dear friend of mine.

Kris has been working in the arts for 24 years. Upon graduating from Rochester Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, she began working in various advertising agencies from Springfield, MA to Morristown, NJ.

In 1996, Kris received her teaching certificate from Framingham State College and began teaching art in the town of Shrewsbury, MA. In 1999, she earned a Masters in Education from Worcester State College.

In addition to teaching Middle School and High School art in Shrewsbury, she also taught as an adjunct instructor at Becker College and Anna Maria College. As a teacher of all artistic mediums, it is natural for her to experiment with a variety of mediums as an artist as well. Working as a teacher has enabled Kris to learn new techniques and offers time in the summer to focus on her own work.

Recently, she traveled abroad to take a course in Printmaking. The summer of 2011 was spent in Florence, Italy studying etchings. Upon returning, she continued her own printing as well as writing a grant that enables her to share her new knowledge with her high school students. Naturally, her recent subject matter reflects her recent years of traveling to Italy and Germany. Many pieces depict the architecture of these countries.

Please visit Kris’s website to see or purchase her work.

  2. I have always been inspired by Kris Cobb since we were college classmates and I especially enjoy her composition in every medium she has explored. I can’t wait to see more of her work.
