Is Jesus the Reason?

imageAs we near the time of Christmas, we witness decorations going up, people madly shopping for gifts, the hustle and bustle of the Christmas season. Now is the time to stop and reflect just why we really celebrate this time. As Christians, we know the real meaning of Christmas, why it is a time of celebration, and what that celebration means to all who believe. If there were no Jesus, there would be no Christmas.

Sadly, millions of people all around the world celebrate the season without Jesus. Our modern Christmas has become grossly filled with ancient pagan practices, which are almost entirely secular in nature, no matter where they got their inspiration from. I know, I know, Christ wasn’t even born on December 25th, and there are a slew of other origins that atheist profess helped to form this holiday. Many people see little room and little need for “Christ” in the Christmas holiday.

As a Christian, even as a child, I’ve always felt a little offended that people continue to celebrate Christmas that don’t believe in Jesus Christ. What are you celebrating? What if I just decided one day that my family and I were going to celebrate Hanukkah? Yeah, they have a neat little tradition, love the candle thing going on, and Blue and Silver is a welcome change from that awful red and green!

Well excuse my sarcasm, and I apologize if I’ve offended the Jewish faith, but you get my point, right?
